My Role: 

I first heard about 2BU on a training course for youth workers and I thought it might be fun to get involved. I started as a volunteer and now I am Chief Exec and LGBTQ+ Youth Support Worker, that was over 13 years ago.

I have responsibilities for the running of the organisation and also the support our service offers. This means a typical day for me can range from writing funding bids and report writing to travelling across Somerset meeting with young people, families, schools, professionals etc or working with the fabulous 2BU Team, providing a range of support groups and 1:1 dedicated support.

What an honour and delight that in my job, I get to meet so many incredible, brave, amazing young people across the county of Somerset, who continue to inspire me in my work with 2BU. We use the hashtag #ItsOK2BU to reach out and show our support to people, so here I am reaching out to you. I look forward to meeting you.

I am most proud of:  

me. You know I couldn’t have said that so very many years ago. But now, I truly believe #itsOK2BU.

My perfect holiday would be: 

camping. I love being outdoors amongst the green of nature and big skies. If the sun was shining and there was a fire to cook food on, I would be very happy indeed.

My ultimate three course meal would be: 

Spicy, I love spicy food, anything with a good kick to it. A good curry or chilli would be great and for pudding anything coffee related!
